A Wisconsin Getaway

As the summer season comes to an end, I find it important to reflect on the wonderful times that my family and community have shared these past couple months. The Johnson family started summer '17 with a trip to Portland to visit Gammy and Gumpy. The week was filled with dips in the ocean, and plenty of ice cream indulgence. I'm sure that for Richie Jr and Sam, every moment spent away from the classroom was a delight. Speaking of the boys, we are super excited for Richie to be starting 8th grade next year!! On July 1st Richard, the boys and I, hopped in the RV and headed down to Wisconsin to visit Richards parents in Sturgeon Bay where we saw many beautiful sights including the famous red lighthouse seen in the image. The house is a beautiful craftsman built by Richards grandfather and has an amazing above ground pool that i'm not sure the boys left the entire time. It's safe to say that the Johnson's got wet this summer. With plenty of baseball, tree houses, and comic books, the only thing missing from our Wisconsin getaway was the boys favorite game, Lumen Me Regit. The boys were dying to get a couple games in but after many trips to local sporting goods outlets, we ultimately failed at purchasing any LMR discs. The thing that really bugged little Richie Jr was that Richards parents had a perfect condition Chlote right there in their backyard! Despite this let down, the whole Johnson family had a wonderful time. The rest of the summer was packed with camps, sleepovers at friends houses, and trips to the vineyard for Richard and myself.

That's Just The Johnson's! Thank you to everyone for checking in. I'm super excited to keep you all updated on our lives and upcoming adventures!

  1. Hey Melissa!! So happy to hear y’all are doing well! How are Gammy and Gumpy? Our Ryan was shocked to hear that Richie was going into 8th grade, it seems like he was lying in his cradle just yesterday. What grade is Sam going into? Also, we’ve never heard of Lumen Me Regit out here in Oregon, could you explain a little about what that is?

    All the best,

  2. Hey There! We love Lumen Me Régit! Been playing since we were kids. Notice we have always used the “French” spelling. Do you? I’m not sure if there are rules differences. In Rhode Island we use slightly different terms. How’s Sam!? Give us the deets! Love you guys

  5. Oh my gosh! Fitzy has grown up! Send pics! You know we met some of your Johnson cousins in Des Moines last fall. Took tons of pics. Send us your Johnson pics and we’ll send you ours. I totally feel your frustration about LMR gear! Went to Dick’s Sporting Goods on our way through Omaha. They had not even heard of the game🤷 haven’t seen Sammy in forever, what’s up with him? Best always,

  7. Hello all! You guys crack me up. So, from the younger generation, just wanna add that LMR is now available as an online game. Just download the app from John Thomas Games. Also, Sam, if you’re on this thread, how come all your social media is down, bro? Anyway, can’t wait to see you at the annual gathering of Johnsons on Cape Cod!
